Paolo Casentini runs a private practice in Milan, Italy. He graduated in dentistry from the University of Milan. He is a Senior Fellow of the ITI and the Past Chairman of the ITI Section Italy. He is also an active member of the the Italian Academy of Osseointegration (IAO). He is the author and co-author of many scientific papers on implantology and regenerative surgery published in international peer-reviewed journals. Paolo Casentini has contributed to 12 text books on implantology, pre-implant surgery and oral surgery, some of them published in English and/or translated into several other languages, including the ITI Treatment Guide volumes 4, 5, 7, 10, 12 and 13 that have been translated into 8 languages. Together with Daniele Cardaropoli he recently published the textbook “Pink Esthetic and Soft Tissues in Implant Dentistry” that is available in 5 different languages. His main fields of interest are the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implantology, periodontology and prosthetic rehabilitation in advanced and demanding cases. Prof. France Lambert is currently Head of the Department of Periodontology, Oro-Dental Surgery and Implant Surgery at the University of Liège, and Director of the EFP-accredited postgraduate program in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. She also co-directs the Dental Biomaterials Research Unit (d-BRU). Her clinical activity is exclusively dedicated to periodontology and implant surgery. Her research focuses on innovative implant protocols, hard and soft tissue regeneration, and the development of smart regenerative biomaterials.

Prof. Lambert graduated in dentistry in 2002 and completed her postgraduate training in Periodontology at the University of Liège (Belgium) in 2005. She subsequently received a one-year ITI Scholarship to Harvard School of Dental Medicine to further specialize in implantology and defended her PhD in 2011 on regenerative biomaterials, while serving as Head of Clinic at the University of Liège.

Prof. Lambert is an ITI Board Member and Chair of the ITI Research Committee, and Affiliate of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. She has held several major international leadership roles, including Past-President of the Belgian Society of Periodontology, former Delegate to the European Federation of Periodontology, former Chair of the ITI Belux Section, and former Member of the Expert Council of the Osteology Foundation.

She lectures internationally and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and serves as a reviewer for leading journals in periodontology and implant dentistry.

Dr. Istvan Urban is an adjunct clinical associate professor in the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He received his DMD and MD degrees from Semmelweis University School of Medicine and Dentistry (Budapest, Hungary) in 1991 and 1996. He completed a full-time program in oral surgery at St. Istvan Hospital in Budapest, Hungary (1992-1996). He completed his internship program in periodontics at UCLA. After graduating from the Fellowship Program (1999-2000) in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, he was appointed assistant professor the following year. Dr. Urban is licensed in the state of California (USA) and has a private practice in Budapest, Hungary.

Dr. Urban received his PhD degree in Periodontology in 2012 from the University of Szeged, Hungary, where he is currently an honorary professor. Dr. Urban is a board member of the Osteology Foundation and has published scientific articles and textbook chapters on bone regeneration and soft tissue reconstructive surgery around dental implants.

Dr. Urban is the author of the textbook entitled Vertical and Horizontal Augmentation published by Quintessence, which has been published in 12 languages. He recently authored the second part of the book titled VERTICAL 2: The NEXT LEVEL.

Dr. Jennifer Chantler is an Australian board-certified prosthodontist with a special interest in comprehensive full-mouth rehabilitation using natural dentition, dental implants, minimally invasive restorations, and removable prosthetic solutions. Her clinical philosophy integrates biological principles, function, esthetics, and long-term predictability to deliver patient-centered outcomes across complex restorative cases. Dr. Chantler’s academic and clinical research focuses on implant restoration design, the biological and mechanical implications of immediate implant placement and loading protocols, ceramic restorative materials, and the application of digital technologies in contemporary prosthodontics.

She has lectured extensively at both national and international forums and has published her work in leading peer-reviewed dental journals, including Clinical Oral Implants Research, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry,Journal of Periodontology, and the Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. She holds a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Western Australia and a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from the University of Melbourne. Dr. Franz Strauss is a Senior Lecturer at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry led by Prof. Ronald Jung at the University of Zurich.

He graduated from the University of Finis Terrae, Chile, in 2010, completed his specialization in periodontics in 2014, and obtained a Master of Science in 2015 from the Universities of Valparaíso and Chile, respectively. In 2017, he moved to Vienna, Austria, to pursue a PhD in Applied Medical Science at the Medical University of Vienna, which he completed in 2023. In 2025, he earned a Master of Science in Evidence-Based Health Care and Medical Statistics from the University of Oxford, UK.

Dr. Strauss’s research focuses on oral regeneration and implant dentistry, with an emphasis on translating evidence into patient- and clinician-centered practice. He has designed and conducted basic, preclinical, and clinical studies, leading to over 100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals. He is an active reviewer for several leading journals in periodontics and implant dentistry and serves as Section Editor for Implantology in the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry. He contributed two chapters to the latest edition of Lindhe’s Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Strauss has received numerous scholarships and research grants as principal investigator or co-investigator from various organisations, including theITI, Oral Reconstruction Foundation, Osteology Foundation and Geistlich-Stucki Foundation.

Prof. Pozzi has been practicing since 1997. He specializes in oral surgery, orthodontics and TMJ dysfunctions. Prof. Matteo Chiapasco is an Associate Professor in Oral Surgery at the University of Milan, Italy. He graduated in medicine in 1984 and specialized in maxillofacial surgery at the University of Milan, Italy in 1990.

His main fields of interest are oral and maxillofacial surgery, with particular attention to orthognatic surgery and advanced implant dentistry – reconstructions for severe atrophy, tumor defects, trauma sequelae, and congenital malformations. Professor Dr. Vivianne Chappuis is an Oral Surgeon and Chair of the Clinic for Oral Surgery and Stomatology and Division of Oral Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Bern Switzerland.

Dr. Lorenzo Tavelli is a periodontist, clinical researcher, and part time lecturer at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and previously served as Director of the Postgraduate Program in Periodontology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Tavelli’s clinical and research activities focus on microsurgical and minimally invasive soft tissue grafting procedures around teeth and dental implants. Dr. Lanis holds an Advanced Diploma in Marketing and Health Administration from the University of Chile School of Business as well as Advanced Certification in Medical Education from the Catholic University of Chile School of Medicine.

Dr. Lanis is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), ITI Speaker, and Member of the ITI Education Committee. Dr Marlene Teo maintains a clinical practice limited to periodontics and dental implants and is director of An Dental and Le by An Dental.

Dr Teo graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2000, where she was the sixth dental graduate in its 64-year history to be awarded BDS Honours. Dr Teo subsequently obtained her Masters in Periodontology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was selected as one of four finalists in the prestigious Orban competition. That same year, Dr Teo was also awarded the North Carolina-AADR Turner Research award. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and senior ITI Fellow. She is also a past-president of the Women’s Implantology Network, South East Asia.

He is an accredited periodontist by the European Federation of Periodontology and has worked in university clinics and hospitals, among others in Greece, Sweden, Switzerland, Australia, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Dr. Mattheaos’ research is disseminated through more than 170 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and he has received numerous awards, including the International Association of Dental Research researcher’s award in 2003 and 2013 and the André Schroeder Prize in 2014 and 2021. He is also a world-leading expert in dental education, in particular with electronic media, and has designed and operated many international courses for implant dentistry, including the world’s first Massive Open Online course at Coursera, which has enrolled more than 50,000 learners.

He is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Prosthodontics and sits on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed implant dentistry journals such as Clinical Oral Implants Research. He is Chair of the ITI Education Committee, an ITI Fellow and member of the ITI Board of Directors. He maintains a private practice in Hong Kong focused on oral rehabilitation and implant dentistry.

Past academic appointments include Clinical Associate Professor of Implant Dentistry in the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong, where he was director of the Implant Dentistry clinic and postgraduate programs in Prince Philip Dental Hospital (2012-2020), Associate Dean for Postgraduate education and Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education. Dr. Martin Janda works part time in a private practice and is also Associate Professor in the dental faculty at Malmö University, Sweden, from which he graduated as a dentist in 1999. He subsequently completed a PhD in the same institution in 2005, where he studied different aspects of dental information technology. During this time he developed many continuous professional development courses and programs for dentists. For this work he was awarded the Educational Research Group Award by the International Association for Dental Research. Following completion of his PhD, Martin Janda specialized in prosthodontics and shifted his research interest to prosthodontics and implant complications. He has finished his second textbook, this time on dental implants, a handbook on how to prevent, diagnose and handle complications. Dr. Janda was named best lecturer by the Swedish dental association (SDA) in 2015.

Dr. Ramanauskaite is a member of the leadership group of the National Osteology Group Germany. Dr. Daniel Buser was Professor in the Department of Oral Surgery at the University of Bern in Switzerland from 2000 to 2019. He has had several sabbaticals, twice at Harvard University (1989/91 and 2016) and at the University Melbourne (2007/08). He served as President of various academic associations including the EAO (1996/97) and the ITI (2009-13).

He received several scientific awards, including the André Schroeder Research Prize (1995), the Brånemark Osseointegration Award from the AO (2013), the Jerome and Dorothy Schweitzer Research Award from GNYAP (2015), ITI Honorary Fellowship from the ITI (2017), the Eskow Implant Dentistry Award from New York University (2018), and most recently was awarded Honorary Membership of the EAO (2024) and received the Paul Goldhaber Award from Harvard University (2024).

With his team, Dr. Buser has authored and co-authored more than 400 publications and book chapters. He is an experienced implant surgeon with 35 years of clinical experience and a pioneer of micro-rough implant surfaces and the GBR technique. He still treats roughly 80 patients a year. He lectures widely at national and international conferences and CE courses to share his knowledge with the young generation.

Professor Anton Sculean is Chairman of the Department of Periodontology and currently the Head of the Dental Research Center (DRC) of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Bern, Switzerland. He has authored more than 620 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 50 chapters in periodontal textbooks and has delivered more than 1000 lectures at national and international meetings.

His research interests focus on periodontal wound healing and regeneration, regenerative and plastic-esthetic periodontal surgery, use of antibiotics, antiseptics, and novel approaches such as lasers and photodynamic therapy in the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant infections.
